Medseed’s Collaborations
Since 1999 Medseed has established its credibility by collaborating with a number of centres of excellence in Australia and with a select number of small “can do” companies.
The release of the Alfred Medseed Wound Imaging System an Australian first in low cost management of wounds resulted from the collaboration between Medseed and the Alfred Hospital. Subsequently Medseed has gone on to enhance the offering with the Advanced Medical Wound Imaging System. See our products page for detail. The Alfred is a major state-wide referral teaching hospital in Melbourne, Australia (www.alfred.org.au).
After building a number of solutions for Melbourne Health (most notably the ADVISE decision support system for its ICU) in 2002 Medseed partnered with Melbourne Health (www.mh.org.au) and the world renowned Victorian Infectious Diseases Service (VIDS) (www.mh.org.au/royal_melbourne_hospital/displayarticle/.html) in developing a hospital antibiotic computer decision support system. The culmination of that partnership is the current Commercialisation of the GUIDANCE DS® suite of computer based clinical decision support tools. The solution is now deployed at Royal Melbourne Hospital, the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute and the Geelong Hospital Barwon Health. See our product page for detail.
Over the period 2004/5 the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (www.racgp.org.au) trialled Medseed’s VIVIDESKTM enterprise desktop portal technology and in late 2005 RACGP formally released the MyGeneralPracticeTM (www.mygeneralpractice.org.au) desktop portal to its members. See our product page for detail. In 2007 this successful collaboration sees the desktop portal being used by over 3,200 GPs and in coming months the offering will be extended to practice managers and practice nurses through the RACGP. In delivering VIVIDESKTM Medseed continues to lean heavily on its collaboration with the Centre for Health Evidence at the University of Alberta, Edmonton Canada (www.cche.net)
